The New ‘Shining Light’ of Aurora Cellars’ Sparkling Wines: Leora
Leora Aurora Cellars New Sparkling Wine

Date

This season, Aurora Cellars is releasing a new sparkling pinot grigio for wine consumers to enjoy. Leora – which means ‘shining light’ in Italian – is the newest member of our sparkling wine family. It was inspired by our desire to create a sparkling wine similar in style to a Prosecco and is produced with 100% Pinot Grigio.

Like the other sparkling wines at Aurora Cellars, Leora is produced using the Charmat – or tank – method. This method allows sparkling wines to have more fresh varietal character with more robust aromatics and stronger secondary flavors. By utilizing the Charmat method, Aurora Cellars Winemaker Drew Perry is able to highlight the strength in our region. It also allows the wine to be offered at a more affordable price and enjoyed on a daily basis.

Leora was inspired by Prosecco, however, unlike Prosecco, which is produced from the Glera grape variety, Leora is made from pinot grigio. Much like Prosecco, Leora has a wide array of pairing options. Sparkling wine is one of the most versatile wines to pair with the food. It can be served before a meal but also works well alongside the main entrée. Due to its fruit-forward aromatics and lively bubbles, Leora pairs well with spicy curries and Southeast Asian fare such as Thai, Vietnamese, Hong Kong, and Singaporean cuisine.

Come into our tasting room and try the new Leora for yourself! We’re sure it will be the ‘shining light’ at your next get together! Our tasting room is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
