Holiday Appetizer and Wine Pairing: Fig and Blue Cheese Bruschetta Paired with 2018 Medium Sweet Riesling


With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, who wants to have to worry about making appetizers or meals that require a lot of work? Try this delicious Fig and Blue Cheese Bruschetta from The Pioneer Woman for a quick and easy appetizer that will satisfy any holiday guest.

Fig and Blue Cheese Bruschetta

  • 1 whole Baguette, Sliced
  • 4 tbsp. Butter
  • 2 tbsp. Fig Spread Or Fig Preserves (or You Can Use Plum, Apricot, Etc)
  • Blue Cheese, Cut Into Chunks


  • Heat the butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Toast the baguette slices until golden and crisp. Allow to cool, then spread with a little fig spread/preserves. Top with blue cheese chunks. Sprinkle on basil.

Serve with a cold glass of wine! We paired this appetizer with a glass of our award-winning 2018 Medium Sweet Riesling. The stone fruit aromatics of this white variety and the light sweetness on the finish allows this wine to be perfect to enjoy before a meal with or without lighter cuisine.
